We do not offer Steam-only, Chemical-Free, Luxury Detailing.

There are some special requests that we cannot fulfill because they would require cleaning the vehicle in a completely different way. We specialize in cleaning very dirty vehicles. Our cleaning process requires the use of chemicals for cleaning and dressings to restore chemically cleaned surfaces. Customers sometimes try to customize the look of interior hard surfaces such as the dash or leather seats or customers try to control the feel and smell of the finished interior. Customers making these requests are actually looking for a completely different type of detail, they are looking for a delicate, chemical-free, steam-only cleaning or what is known as a luxury detail.

Here are some examples of requests that customers make that would indicate they should probably look for a different detail shop, which offers a steam-only, chemical-free, luxury detail:

“Not too shiny”

Sometimes customers are concerned about how the leather seats and dash will be too shiny after detailing.

Our process for cleaning employs material specific chemicals for removing grime, dirt, marks and stains from interior hard surfaces including leather or vinyl seats. Due to the nature of the cleaners and methods we use, all surfaces must be reconditioned or dressed with a non-silicone, oil-based dressing, then buffed with a microfibre cloth for a clean, crisp non-greasy finish. We take great care to buff-off excess dressing from these surfaces to minimize shine, however there will always be a slight unavoidable increase in the shine of these surfaces. We do not offer a no-gloss or matte finish dressing option.

Customers who want no shine interiors can get a steam-only cleaning and then drying/buffing with a microfibre cloth only, with no dressing. If they want the ultraviolet light protection and reduced dust attraction qualities of an interior dressing, they could get a matte finish dressing instead of our oil-based dressing. However, we do not offer these two options because the results are very poor if the vehicle is dirty. Moreover, Steam-only and/or matte finish dressing is a more time consuming method of detailing.

“Not to slippery”

Customers sometimes request that we don’t clean the steering wheel or that we don’t put slippery stuff on the mats.

The steering wheel is the dirtiest part of any vehicle. What feels slippery after detailing is the lack of dirt and grime. Once again, steam-only cleaning may be an option.

Clean rubber or plastic floor mats may seem more slippery than dirty ones. We clean all floor mats with chemicals and pressure washing, this generally leaves these surfaces dull and we apply a special floor mat dressing that increases traction and leaves the finish clean looking but not greasy.

“Not too smelly”

Sometimes customers request no perfumes or deodorizers due to migrane issues or allergies.

We do not spray any deodorizers in vehicles. When our work is completed we hang an air freshener that customers can remove if they want. We don’t spray any perfumes.

However, all the chemicals we use to clean and the dressings we apply do have fragrances that sensitive people may dislike. If you are extra sensitive to these odors it’s best to find a steam-only/Luxury detail.

“Not too wet”

Too much humidity or wetness in a vehicle is a valid concern. Certain exotic and classic vehicles are extremely susceptible to any humidity, for this reason we don’t clean them, if you have that type of vehicle, you should get a steam-only, detail with another Detail Shop.

There is a certain amount of unavoidable wetness in the floors and cloth seats with our detail process. Also, a certain level of increased humidity inside the vehicle will occur, which will have to be managed post cleaning.
However, we are able to completely dry cloth seats, so that you can comfortably sit on the seats, however the vehicle is still not completely dry. There will always be areas with some dampness that require time to completely dry.

For customers who are unusually sensitive to any humidity in their car, after cleaning, the best option is finding a Detail Shop that offers a steam-only detail. Also, consider only detailing your vehicle in the summer, when its much easier to dry a vehicle’s interior.

If your vehicle is not that dirty, and you are concerned about the gloss of interior dressings, perfumes, slipperiness and humidity, do not book our Complete Detail. You should find another Detail Shop, which offers a steam-only, chemical-free, luxury detail.
